This high fantasy story is the first novel to be based on the Dungeons & Dragons game (BXCMI edition). Johauna is a young woman seeking to become a squire (and, eventually, a knight) in the chivalrous Order of the Three Suns. She meets the embittered knight Flinn the Fallen, once known as Flinn the Mighty, and attempts to redeem him through the Quadrival, the four knightly virtues. But the last virtue, Glory, can only be attained by slaying the terror of Penhaligon, the green dragon Verdilith.
