Alpha Complex is ruled by your friend and mine, The Computer. Life in Alpha Complex is perfect. Everyone is happy, thanks to The Computer’s Mandatory Happiness Directive. Unhappiness is treason, citizen.

At least, life would be perfect if it weren't for those damn Commie Mutant Traitors!~ These despicable Communists, filthy genetic deviants and all those free-thinking, subversive terrorist filesharers in the secret societies are all trying to undermine The Computer's perfect new society.

Alpha Complex's first line of defence against Commie Mutant Traitors are the heroic Troubleshooters. These braver agents of the Computer find Trouble and then they Shoot it!

You are a Troubleshooter. Your duty is to uncover the Commie Mutant Traitors and terminate them. It may be that one or more of your team is secretly a Mutant or a Traitor or even a Communist.
